------------------------------------------------------------ THE ANSWERS Q: What is Agape World Fellowship (AWF)? A: AWF is a non-Denominational Christian based (3DVR) chat where Christians and non Christians come to worship GOD and pray to the Lord Jesus in mental and spiritual harmony. We also study, chat, build, play and meet others in fellowship. Q: What is the purpose of AWF? A: AWF is first and foremost a Christian world ministry and fellowship. Our core purpose is to reach out into online communities and bring all to Jesus Christ, that they may know Him as their Lord and Savior. Q: Do you have to be a Christian to join AWF? A: No. Everyone, Christian and non-Christian can join AWF. Q: Do you have to buy a citizenship to AWF? A: No. AWF is a free Christian site for all to enjoy. You can download the special 3DVR browser and enter our 3DVR universe as a visitor, and become a citizen by following the directions for Registration ------------------------------------------------------------ Q: Why is my mouse stuck in the middle of the screen? A: If your mouse appears to be stuck in the middle of your screen when using AWF you are most likely in freelook mode. To turn off freelook mode click your middle mouse button (or wheel) or press the F2 key. * Q: Can I change where I start? A: Yes, all you have to do is make a new "Home". First teleport or click on "Teleport" at the top of the AWF Browser, then scroll down and click on "Make This My Home". That will make your present location in AWF your default starting place. A: To fly use the + and - keys on your extended keyboard (the section of numbers to the right). To fly on a laptop hold the Fn (function) key and use the [;] and [p] keys. Remember: Not all worlds allow you to fly in which case using these keys will have no effect.* A: To see what your avatar looks like press the [END] key repeatedly to cycle through the views including first person and third person views.* A: A coordinate or "coord" for short is the location of something, you, an object, world etc.. Coordinate refers to the longitude and latitude of something on a particular virtual world. example: Agape 10N 15W 0A 180. Agape would be the name of the world, 10N = 10 meters North of the center of the world (also known as GZ or Ground Zero) 15W = 15 meters West of GZ. 0A = 0 elevation and 180 refers to the direction you will be facing. Q: How do I change my appearance? A: To change your appearance click on Avatars at the top of your AWF Browser and scroll down and through the list of Avatars available to you. Q: How do I change my maximum rating? A: All worlds in Agape World Fellowship are "G" rated and will never change, according to our ministry rules so there is no need to change your "Maximum" rating. Q: How do I walk through walls? A: To move through walls (more commonly known as shifting) press and hold the shift key while you move. Remember: Not all worlds allow you to move through solid objects.* A: To fly use the + and - keys on your extended keyboard (the section of numbers to the right). To fly on a laptop hold the Fn (function) key and use the [;] and [p] keys. Remember: Not all worlds allow you to fly in which case using these keys will have no effect. A: If someone is 'ejected' it means that they have broken the rules of AWF. Our rules are based on good Christian behavior, which means being polite, respectful, and not acting out with bad behavior. Sexual, violent, unwanted teasing, etc.. can be reasons for a person to be ejected from AWF. Please see the "Rights & Rules" of AWF. Q: How do I turn off the music? A: There are 3 kinds of music in Active Worlds; Midi, MP3/Wav and Streaming. To turn off Midi files (Sounds you usually hear when entering or leaving a world) do the following... A: There are several well noted bot makers, here are some:

------------------------------------------------------------ As time permits we will add more information on terminologies relevant to AWF A: 3DVR is the abbreviation for 3 Dimensional Virtual Reality, which is 3-dimensional image, objects, avatars, sky, terrain etc.. that imitates reality in a realistic or unrealistic environment. A: VoIP is the ability for users to voice chat, or Voice-Over-IP (VOIP). Voice chat is handled by the world server (not the universe) so you may only chat with people in the same world, and only if the world has voice chat enabled. Q: What is VRT (Virtual Realty Time)? A: Virtual Reality Time is a convention originally agreed upon by members of the various virtual communities that make up Active Worlds as a standard time to be used for events. VRT is actually equivalent to the "Mid-Atlantic" time zone, which is GMT minus two hours. Agape World Fellowship does use VRT to help with meeting times etc.. An example of VRT can be found here. A: In AWF a CT or CareTaker has a unique position in that they have nearly all abilities and rights to do just about anything on our worlds including terrain manipulation, editing or even deleting all builds giving or denying rights to other members etc.. Some CTs have more limited abilities and rights according to what they "care" for, whether its a whole world or just part of it. A: RWX is a type of model/object. The .rwx extension comes at the end of a model/object's name (such as: sign1.rwx ). RWX models were originally created by RenderWare® and is the native format for most 3D models/objects in Agape World Fellowship. ------------------------------------------------------------ *Thank you to ActiveWorlds.com to AWPortals.com to Mauz.info to Frobozz.ws to ActiveWorlds Wiki and to our own AWF Citizens for many of these excellent questions and answers. |
